Before the Olympic Games of Athens 2004, the Olympic Flame traveled to Tinos, after visiting other places of Greece. Early in the morning of the 15th of July, the inhabitants of the island had the opportunity to watch the torch- race and the torch- bearers from Tinos.
The band played the Olympic and the Greek National Hymns. Everybody hold Greek flags. At about 08.30 am, the flame arrived on the heliport by a helicopter Sinouk and the torch- race started from there. The Olympic Flame, after several minutes arrived in the down town of Tinos where everybody was waiting.
Then, children formed the Olympic Circles and presented different Olympic Sports. The “ Olympic Celebration” ended with a performance of the Dancing Group of Tinos.
