
THE DAY OF THE EUROPEAN UNION'S ENLARGEMENT ON TINOS
At the 1st of May, new countries became members of the European Union.
The European Union of the artists organized a satellite photographing
in order to celebrate the enlargement of the European Union. The citizens
of the European countries had to open as much umbrellas during the
day of the 1st of May. Those umbrellas are the symbol of the solidarity
and the friendship among the countries which form the European Union
and its protection from terrorism and from other dangers.
The island of Tinos participated in this celebration. The inhabitants
were gathered at the beach of St. Fokas and opened more than 120 umbrellas.
It has been also organized a festival with free drinks, food and ice
creams while there was a competition of sculpture on the sand. The
children played with the water and the sand and made really pieces
of art on the sand.
The photos were taken from the satellite and by a helicopter too. People
had a wonderful time admiring the beauties of the nature of Tinos.
